SPAR this Friday!

Tomorrow we are going to SPAR's Water Park to play (http://sulphurparks.com/index/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=12&Itemid=17)

Admission is free for kids 2 and under, $4 for 3 and up (and adults). Let's plan on playing for a while then having lunch - there is a place there to buy lunch, although they will allow you to bring food for babies in plastic containers (can't bring food for adults).

This Friday - No Blueberries

We were supposed to go blueberry picking this Friday in Opelousas, but the berries are not ready...so - change of plans. Why don't we just meet at Prein Lake Park again to play at the splash pad? I know that we always have so much fun there...and if we get there in the morning (before 11), there are not too many kids. I will be out of town, so Ben and I will miss you this week...but next week --> SPAR, here we come!

Fire Station Here We Come!

I am soo excited to bring Benjamin to the fire station this Friday morning! Remember it is at 9:45 am, not 10 am like we usually meet. Also, I know I sent an email out to everyone regarding treats for the firemen with every intention of organizing that, but I didn't (sorry - I have been busy). So...if you want to make treats for the firemen, please do. I know they will appreciate it (the Captain told me they really look forward to the goodies parents bring!). There are about 8-10 firemen on duty at any given time at the Big Lake Road Station. See you Friday!!

Zoo of Acadiana - Road Trip!

Our play group is going to the zoo this Friday morning...We can all meet at my house (downtown on 7th, close to the interstate) at 8:45 am, with plans to leave no later than 9 am. If you don't want to carpool or caravan, we will see you there around 10 am. See you soon!

Free Fun this Saturday!

I was told that the Tourist Bureau is having a free event/expo of all the summer camp options: art camps, math, baseball, etc. Along with it will be food, jumping, balloon animals, etc.

10 - 2 at the Tourist Bureau (so I'm told). If anyone knows anything about it (or sees incorrect info in this post, let me know).

Library Schedule!!

I just got back from the library and here's the summer schedule.

Summer Reading Program Kickoff- Friday, May 28th
Prien Lake Park from 4pm to 7pm- Crafts, Clowns, Cookies, and more!

Story times start on Tuesday, June 1st
Tuesdays- 10am, 2pm, and 6:30pm
Thursdays- 10am, 2pm

I know I have been M.I.A. from our play groups, but Fridays at 10 are when my husband is home. He has mornings off... so you know, we have our "evenings" in the morning. But I will be around when he's not home.

Schedule Change - Children's Museum This Week

I just wanted to let everyone know about a schedule change this Friday. Instead of going to the fire station, we will be going to the Children's Museum at 10 am. We are scheduled to go to the fire station (Station 8) on 5265 Big Lake Road two weeks from now, on May 21 at 9:45 am. I will make changes to the original schedule post.
I would like to get a tentative head count for the fire station trip to let the Chief (Jones) know ahead if time...also, dads are welcome to come as well as older siblings, friends, etc...
Finally, I would like to bake/bring the firemen something as a thank you - so if anyone wants to help please let me know.

Prien Lake Park...Here We Come!

This Friday our playgroup is meeting at Prien Lake Park. Don't forget to bring your swim suits in case we move to the splash pad! I will be in BR this week, so Ben and I won't be there...but everyone else --> Have FUN! and take pictures...

Play Group Schedule - April - June 2010

Here is the schedule for April, May and June. Please feel free to bring a friend anytime. For the out of town trips, we will coordinate driving, etc... the week before. I will try to send out an email reminder to everyone the day before.



April 23 - Adventure Cove (Ward 3) Park, 10 am, bring your own lunch (there is a splash pad, so you may want to pack a swimsuit just in case)



April 30 - Prien Lake Park, 10 am , bring your own lunch



May 7 - Children's Museum, 10 am



May 14 - Zoo of Acadiana, leave LC at 9 am, eat at zoo or bring your own lunch



May 21 - Fire Station 8 (5265 Big Lake Road), 9:45 am (I need a headcount by Wednesday!!)



May 28 - University Park, 10 am, bring your own lunch



June 4 - Blueberry Picking **there is a farm in Opelousas that I am going to contact - may or may not work out



June 11 - SPAR, 10 am, bring swimsuit -- you must buy a special diaper from SPAR for your baby



June 18 - Sam Houston Jones State Park, 10 am, bring your own lunch



June 25 - Vermillionville in Lafayette, leave LC at 9 am, bring your own lunch
